Gift Ideas

One of the hardest things to do is pick out gifts. No, I'm not exaggerating. It's a process, especially if you don't know what the person likes. So, I've put together a list of ideas that will - hopefully - make your search easier. *Disclaimer: Read reviews for the items you are going to purchase. Don’t just take my word for it.

Travel and Coffee Mugs

Coffee Mugs are my go-to gift when I’m shopping for acquaintances. Even if the person isn’t a coffee drinker, they can use the mug for tea or hot chocolate, and the Mr. Coffee 4-set comes with spoons! They’re currently $12.87 on Amazon, and for a few dollars extra you can get the multi-colored set. I also love the Gibson Coffee Mugs that come with their own wire rack. They’re currently 17.99 on Amazon. Oh, and where would I be without a travel mug? Sometimes I need a hot drink on the go. The Ello Ogden travel mug is BPA free and comes in several cute colors. Currently $14.99 on Amazon.

You can find almost anything on Amazon. It’s great for books, movies, and yes, coffee mugs. Just be sure to read the reviews!

Movie, Book, and Sports Merchandise

I had to include this category because chances are the people you’re shopping for are a fan of at least one of the big franchises on the big screen, read, and likes sports. There’s an over-abundance of merchandise all across the internet, and it takes some digging to find what you’re looking for. So I’m going to highlight some gems.

Merchoid is a great place to look for movie merchandise like this Spider-Man Hoodie for $59.99. I purchased this exact one before (2 years ago, if anyone is looking for specifics) and it was well worth the price. The person I gave it to loved it, but I was tempted to keep it for myself. The fabric was so soft and the stitching was phenomenal. Their merch is all officially licensed. They also carry everything from Batman to Legend of Zelda. Note that they’re UK based, so buy in advance to account for shipping time.

Esty is one of those sites that has something for everyone, including bookworms. I suggest the adorable ‘On To The Next Chapter’ bookmark from Etsy shop LoveThatLeather. Currently $17.00. When you start looking for gifts, make Etsy one of your first stops. You’re more likely to find something unique and there’s the added benefit of supporting the creators whose shops are hosted there.

Team hoodies and jerseys, whether it be NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL, are always a hit. Personally, I’m in love with this Toronto Raptors Championship Hoodie. It looks so cozy. Currently $64.99 on The NBA Store. Merchandise like this can be found on any of the official stores or on sites like Nike, Lids, and department stores like Target.

Subscription Boxes

I put this category in because I think it’s a good idea if you need something low effort, but still unique. Does the person you’re shopping for have an interest in skincare and haircare? There’s a box for that (FabFitFun). Do they like interesting snacks? There’s a box for that (Snack Crate). Do they like art supplies? Well, there are several boxes for that (ArtSnacks & Paletteful Packs).

Word of caution, these are subscription boxes. So if you do decide to gift one, just make sure you cancel after the number of months you want to pay for.

Soaps and Lotions

Soaps and lotions are great gifts for anyone in your life, and I’ve always loved the products at Shea Shea Bakery. It’s an honor to have this article hosted on their site. I appreciate their products, both for personal use and as a gift, because they’re unique and original and the scents are amazing. They a wide range of products including the Confetti Cake Batter Bath Whip. It smells like the real thing and it lathers like a dream. Seriously, a little bit of it goes a long way with this stuff. Starting at $12.00. Their Honeycomb Bath Set (including a Sweet Honey Bubble Bath, two Honeycomb Soaps, and a Honey Dipper) is adorable and - you’ll start to notice this trend - it actually smells like honey. Currently $16.00 They also have a whole section on their site dedicated to gift sets.

It would be remiss of me to mention Shea Shea Bakery and not highlight their shea butters and signature decorative lids. One of their most popular scents and my personal favorite is sugar cookie. All of their shea butters with decorative lids are $20.00.

Candles

Listen, currently I have fifteen candles in my closet, two on my desk, and six more stored away. I may have a problem, but even if the person you’re shopping for isn’t as big for candles as I am, they’ll probably be happy with one. Again, I’m going to direct you to Shea Shea Bakery and introduce you to their Home Fragrance section. They have several wonderful candles, included, but not limited to Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Spice, and the Snickderdoodle. Those are all $20.00. And, for those who aren’t a fan of large candles, these 5” Cast Iron Pot Wax Burners for $25 are a cute substitute. Pair with the Sugar Cookie or Peanut Butter Cup wax melts.

If all else fails...

If all else fails, get creative! Here’s some suggestions. (1) Ask the person you're getting a gift for to make a list of things they need and get a few things off of that list for them. (2) Instead of getting one big thing, put together a care package of sorts with a lot of little things (candy, knick-knacks, etc.) that they like. (3) Gift Cards are your best friend.
